About Us
Shobudo Bujitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art of JuJitsu, now used for self-defense. Shobudo was developed by Nakasato, Shoshu, Master of Shobudo. The first Americans to learn Shobudo, training with Master Nakasato, were; Shihan, Vincent J. MacGale, Sichi Dan, Robert Morton and Sichi Dan Nathan Banks. There are several off-shoots of Shobudo in the United States, however, their lineage can all be traced to these three Americans and to Master Nakasato. This Dojo, like many others, teaches Shobudo in it's pure form.

Shobudo utilizes throwing/leverage techniques, strikes, (punches, blocks, kicks, chops, etc.) and most importantly; joint locking/controlling techniques, (Kansetsu Waza).

Mr. Hoffman immersed himself into the study and practice of Shobudo and became a student of Kaicho Morton and after more than twenty years of practice and teaching, he attained his present rank of Roku Dan in 2002.

Paul Hoffman began training at age nine, with his father and for many years, part of his daily routine consisted of hours of grueling, painful training. In another arena, Paul was a varsity wrestler in high school, winning a great deal of medals. Paul was promoted to his present rank of Yon Dan in September, 2006.
